Waters, time of day and weather
Where, when and in what weather you fish helps decide which fish bite.
Places to fish
- You can fish anywhere there is water: at the village square fountain, Sunny Beach, the Long Pier, the Lily Pond and Mill Brook.
- There is deep water at the end of the Long Pier – with different species. Only a long cast reaches it.
- Farther away are the zones: cave, mangroves, glacier island and open sea.
Day and night
- A day lasts 24 minutes and is the same for everyone: dawn, golden hour, night by moonlight.
- Some species only appear at night or at dusk.
- With Glow Bait, you catch more night species after dark.
Weather
- Every 10 to 20 minutes the weather changes: sun, clouds, rain or fog.
- In rain and fog, more rare fish bite. Some species only show up in certain weather.
- Rarely there is a thunderstorm, a rainbow after the rain, or a shooting-star night. Special species bite then.
The Fishdex helps
Species you haven’t found yet appear in the Fishdex as a silhouette with a hint like “Lives in the pond · night only”.
Seasons
At special times, seasonal species join in, for example at Halloween. They appear in the Fishdex but don’t count toward progress.
