🗺️ Island map, signposts and sprinting

The island map

• Open the map with M or the 🗺️ button at the top. On a phone, find it in the ⋯ menu under “Map” or tap the small map.
• Drag to move the map, use the mouse wheel or two fingers to zoom. On a keyboard, use the arrow keys, + and −.
• You see traders, the workbench, swarms, friends and yourself. Tap a symbol to learn more.
• At the top, you can switch to the zones: cave, glacier, mangroves and open sea.

Discovering signposts

• Every district has a signpost. Come within about 6 meters and it’s discovered – it raises its flag.
• On the map, a ? marks a signpost you don’t know yet.
• With an account, your signposts stay saved. As a guest, they last for this visit and carry over when you sign in.

Fast travel

• Stand at a discovered signpost, open the map and pick another discovered destination.
• Travel is free. Afterwards, you wait 12 seconds before the next trip.
• It doesn’t work while fishing or from a boat – reel in or dock first.

💡 A small “Travel” hint appears next to the signpost once you know at least two.

Sprinting

• Hold Shift while walking. On a phone, pull the stick all the way out, past its edge.
• You’re then about 1.6 times as fast. There’s no stamina – sprint as long as you like.
• Indoors, while fishing and in a boat, you walk normally. Your pet keeps up.
