Display tanks

Show off your best catches in your hut: visitors pay admission, and the till keeps filling while you are away.

How it works

  • Buy a tank from aquarist Perla outside the island aquarium in the Harbour Quarter and place it with the hut editor (✏️).
  • Catch a fish and tap “Into the display tank” on the catch card instead of selling it.
  • Visitors come on their own, and the admission goes into the till. You can collect it in your hut or from Perla.
  • In your hut, tap or click a tank to open it. You find the overview in the ⋯ menu under “Display tanks”.

Tanks and water

  • Your shack has room for 1 tank, the beach hut for 2, the fisher’s cottage for 4, the seaside villa for 6.
  • The giant tank is only available with the seaside villa. Giants count 1.5 times as much in it.
  • The water has to match: freshwater (pond, stream, fountain, mountain lake), seawater (sea, pier, open sea), cold water (glacier), brackish water (mangroves) and dark tanks (cave, mine lake).
  • An empty tank takes the water of the first fish. You can also choose it yourself while the tank is empty.

Adding and releasing fish

  • Only freshly caught fish move in – so shortly after the catch. That works from anywhere, straight from the catch card or in the tank with “Add a fish”.
  • Fish live in the tank forever. They cannot go back into the bucket or be sold.
  • You can always release them, and just like from the bucket it brings you a little luck.

Appeal

Appeal decides how many visitors come. It grows with everything that looks good in the tank.

  • Fish: the rarer, the better. Size crowns count more, shiny fish 5 times as much.
  • Variety: different species draw more visitors than many of the same.
  • Theme: if all fish belong to one collection set, you get ×1.5 – a Night Owls tank, for example.
  • Decor: plants, stones, chests, bubblers, lights and crystals from the mine, up to ×1.5 together. Each piece counts once per tank.

Admission, care and the till

  • Half of the admission always comes in, even if you never look in. Nothing dies, nothing decays.
  • The other half needs attention: it is full after every change and drops over 14 days. Feeding and real visitors raise it again.
  • Feeding (in the hut, one portion per tank) gives +30% for 24 hours. Real visitors give +5% per guest and day. At most ×1.3 together.
  • The till holds 48 hours. After that it waits until you empty it.
  • All tanks together bring at most about as much per day as 1.2 hours of fishing at your level.

Perla and the island aquarium

  • Perla sells tanks, decor and food: one portion costs 90 🐚. Cheaper still, she mixes food from 3 everyday fish and 1 bait – that makes 2 portions.
  • She is already collecting freshly caught fish for the island aquarium. Every donation counts as build points for the island upgrades, just like at the Builders’ Hut, and from 25 donations she calls you “Friend of the Island Aquarium”.
  • When you look at filled tanks in other people’s huts, you get a stamp. 20 different tanks earn you the “Tank Rambler” title.
  • Every week, the best cared-for tank of each hut counts. On Mondays, Perla names the “Tank of the Week”.

Your first feeding or change of the day also counts for the daily mix.
